Shot on Sony A7 III with the Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 Lens

In December 2023, I was contacted by BMW (Brian Jessel BMW) to contribute portrait and lifestyle photography to their in-house magazine, Jessel Magazine. For their recent Spring issue, I was able to photograph one of the most acclaimed actors in the film industry, as well a Vancouver creative. Jacob Tremblay.

For those who don’t know, Jacob Tremblay is a Canadian actor who has appeared in many critically acclaimed films produced by A24, Warner Bros, and Netflix. He has worked with actors Brie Larson, Peter Dinklage, Boyd Holbrook, Rebecca Ferguson, and Kevin Bacon, as well as many directors like Lenny Abrahamson, Mike Flanagan, Macon Blair, Charlie Kaufman, and Travis Knight.

The photoshoot was shot on January 5th 2024 in downtown Vancouver. This was also the first time using the Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 with a Moment Bloom 10% Filter. A big thank you again to Tamron Americas for letting me receive this lens just in time for the new year. If you have read Jessel Magazine, not all of the photos made it to the final print. In an exclusive blog post just for this set, I’m excited for my readers to view this exclusive set for Jacob. Jacob was very collaborative in the process of this shoot and it was an incredible opportunity to photograph a Vancouver creative in the urban lifestyle while still embracing Jacob’s stoic and neutral emotion through visual storytelling.
